The holidays may be over, but who said giveaways had to be over too? To keep the holiday spirit going a little longer, I'm giving away a copy of a fun cookbook called FoodFest 365. This book is written by Food Network competitor Yvan D. Lemoine and is filled with fun food-trivia as well as celebrations of different types of food for everyday of the year. You can enjoy Chocolate Mint day on Febuary 19th, Coconut Torte day on March 13th or Cotton Candy day on July 31st.
To enter the contest, comment on this post and tell us what your favorite foods to celebrate with are. For a second entry in this contest, add a comment on Chocolate Shaving's facebook page. This content is open to US and Canadian residents only and ends on January 9th, 2011. Good luck!

Barbecue! Hands down a great party food. My favorite holiday by far is the 4th of July.
I think anything with chocolate in the title is a sure way to celebrate! :-) Thanks for the giveaway!
Definitely a chips & dip fan! Pretty much any kind!
The simplest party dip EVER...cream cheese & Italian dressing seasoning, mix and eat with wheat thins! So good and SO simple!
Hot wings!
This would be my kind of book! My favorite food holiday is probably World Nutella day. Nutella at every meal!
lovely giveaway I like to celebrate with sweets
I like to celebrate with simple things. Having the gals over? How about some fresh fruit, fresh bread, Brie and chocolate? A group of friends for dinner? Pasta and salad, with a nice homemade dessert. I like to make something special from scratch when we celebrate. I made candy cane ice cream for Christmas dessert.
We love chocolate for anything.
But if we want nutritious food we go for Italian.
Sliders, LOVE LOVE
Enter me please.
Mexican food is also a favorite
I love to celebrate with cake and ice cream!
Cheese is a celebratory cheese to me. I love to start any gathering with a cheese plate.
Hm... chocolate, cheese, fresh fruit and veggies, and seafood.
Fondue and cake. Not necessarily together.
I still love homemade spinach dip made using Knorr's veggie soup mix.
Oh my goodness, cotton candy day! I love it! What a great giveaway! Thanks for the chance to win.

cake and ice cream is my fave - classic bday party treats:)
I don't necessarily have a favorite FOOD, but I know I love celebrating with sangria! And if it's cold outside, I vary the sangria by doing mulled wine instead.
During the holidays I always like to do traditional dishes but try to vary them a bit. For example, rather than regular stuffing, I like to do a cornbread, wild rice, and pecan stuffing.

I like celebrating with tons of "small bites". Appetizers like mozzarella sticks and guacamole and corn chips and desserts like cookies and brownies!
I like celebrating with making seasonal treats with my boys!
I love cheese of any kind with a Cosmo, preferably!
Tapas! Chocolate! Cupcakes! Yum :)
I love celebrating with treats! I love getting together for game nights with warm, gooey brownies or sweating through firework shows with scoops of homemade ice cream.
I think for me it would a variation of "crevettes au calvabec". I don't entertain with it (yet) but this dish is used as one in my family, for my birthday for me and my brother. And when we were children, during week-ends, my parents were flaming the shrimps with cognac. yummmm...

It's almost 10:30 pm and I'm thankful it's still the 9th, making me eligible to enter this giveaway! FoodFest 365 looks like a GREAT book to own. I love trivia AND food. Put them together and you DO have a FoodFest. A delightful way to spend an evening -- eating great food and playing games with people you adore! My favorite food to celebrate with is "spaghetti and meatballs" -- it's comforting, filling, fun to eat and an inexpensive way to feed an army of family and friends. Round it out with loaves of crusty Italian bread, anitpasto, and mounds of freshly grated parmigiano-reggiano. If it's in the budget serve red wine! Oooooh, top it off with tiramisu -- that is, if you have room for dessert!
I am so sad I live in Australia ! I celebrate {and commiserate} all things with chocolate - usually o a daily basis !!
My favourite is apple pie - made with local apples and organic flour!
Cupcakes! Cute, fun and simple enough, but great for any occasion!
